our story

Kia ora,

thanks for dropping by!  Kai Ora Honey Ltd is a small, Māori family owned business operating in the Far North.  We produce some of New Zealand’s highest Active Mānuka Honey, with location and heritage being a major asset to our business.  Through our heritage, Kai Ora works in a complex network of relationships with whānau, hapū and iwi.  These networks have local, regional, national and international dimensions which we work hard to maintain and nurture.

Our success rests in our ability to maximise the influence of our heritage and culture as well as the environmental, social and economic initiatives that we feel support and protect the community around us.  This influence helps us to maintain and retain relationships and access to highly valued Mānuka resources and increases our export and market ability.  We do this by actively engaging with our community through regular reporting to Iwi and Iwi members, attending and contributing to the Māori Miere Coalition, and staying connected with regular visits to our whānau, hapū and Iwi.

We aspire to use this opportunity and business model to lay solid foundations for the generations to come so they can live, work, educate and raise families positively in Te Tai Tokerau.  While we work toward this future, we continue as a whānau to pour our hearts into a business we are proud to say is both successful and sustainable and which gives us the ability to continue to live and thrive in the Far North.

Ngā mihi,

Blanche Morrogh
