whanau

We are a whanau owned business operating 2000 hives in the Far North, New Zealand, producing some of New Zealand highest Active Manuka Honey. All descendants of Ngati Kuri & Te Rarawa, using the vision of our late grandmother Saana Waitai Murray and father Rapine Murray, Kai Ora Honey is living proof, that Maori can operate a successful, sustainable business right here in Te Taitokerau.
Our location and heritage is a huge asset to our business. Through our heritage Kai Ora works in a complex network of relationships, with whanau, hapu and iwi, which have local, regional, national and international dimensions. It is imperative that we are successful in maximising our heritage, culture, social, environmental and economic influences in all areas, as this helps us to maintain and retain our relationships & access to high valued Manuka resource and increase our export markets.
