We are proud and honoured to have our ShEO Blanche Morrogh selected as a finalists for the fifth Ngā Whetū o Matariki - Matariki Awards.
Blanche Morrogh ( Ngāti Kuri and Te Rarawa te Iwi) is 1 of 3 finalists including Greg Summerton and Pania Tyson-Nathan in the running for the auspicious Te Tupu-ā-Nuku Award for Business and Innovation – game changers in their field making an impact and driving our economy and society forward.
“I’m honoured to be amongst such a high caliber of nominees, whom I also admire deeply and draw inspiration from eveyday” Blanche said today during morning tea.
Whilst many associate her to the Manuka Honey Industry and our recently released skincare range Hana Botanicals to ad value, her true strength with science and innovation is just coming to light, such as leading initiatives that will see Māori landowners in the Far North maximise the economic potential of their unused or under-utilised land through generating additional income by planting Mānuka for oil production or extracting oil from already established wild Mānuka & Kanuka trees on their land.
She truely believes that Maori are to be the global market leaders of new industries forged from indigenous flora and fauna, proven by Western Science and protected by and for Aotearoa.
So join us with great admiration and celebration for our ShEO!
